Aaannd, we're back.

Ok, so I *might* have disappeared for quite some weeks...life sure does get difficult, stressful, colorful sometimes, doesn't it? And of course, when that happens, blogging seems to go by the wayside. Sooo...for anyone who may still be around, lol, how about some photos, hey?!

The first thing I'm really dying to do is share some of my first projects for Little Black Dress Kit Club!
Here's what I created with the May 2012 kit:

I just LOVE the tilted design of this MME paper, as well as these new paintable alphabets from Heidi Swapp...I created a sketch to go along with this layout as well:

To play along & to see what the other designers did with this sketch, check out the Little Black Dress blog post HERE.

For all the little circular accents from the sketch, I combined some confetti & some cut-out floral circles, along with an eclectic mix of buttons from the LBD kit:

The Heidi Swapp rub-ons layered well over the Prima ticket...and a tip on the resist alphabets:  I got the boldest results by using a paint-based product rather than a more translucent spray ink.  On this page, I used the Miss Mary Mack Sprinkler from October Afternoon...definitely my favorite ink color from this past year's release!

My 2nd layout for LBD May is all about Pinterest fun:

Thought I'd create a layout documenting the things I've actually DONE from Pinterest, lol...had fun rainbow-inking the alphabet, and adding the great internet-friendly Heidi Swapp stickers:

Last up for now, a quick little card...love the sweet little Crate Paper image here:

MME - April Challenge

I'm loving the new My Mind's Eye blog...lots of fresh, new inspiration, challenges, and collections to look at!

For April's challenge, it's all about hexagons...so, since I'm loving this hexagon/honeycomb trend, of course I had to play along!

I wanted to showcase hexagons in a fun way, without just covering my page with them, so I came up with this twine-outlined hexagon cluster, with varying sizes.

I also used a subtle mini-hexagon mask on the background, and enhanced the hexagon theme with a small rhinestone/brad hexagon accent.

Thanks, as always, for the great inspiration, MME!

That perfect Little Black Dress...

I'm so excited to announce that I'll be joining the team at Little Black Dress kit club!

I really enjoy working with kit clubs, and am especially excited to work with one I've long admired.
Little Black Dress offers unique, elegant kits full of the type of products I love the most...artsy, distressed, fancy, AND vintage...my little crafting heart couldn't ask for more. :)

I'll be starting with next month's May kit, but in the meantime, here's a peek at their current April Kit, Because You Love Me:

Love the muted grey+bright pink.

And here's a layout featuring a product in their current Because You Love Me April kit...the Pretty In Pink Peek-A-Boo transparencies from Glitz Design:

I used the circle transparency to frame a focal photo, and cut the floral transparency in half for the top & bottom borders of the photo grid.

Can't wait to dive into my first kit, so watch for that debut next month!

Spring is in the Air!

Except it's snowing outside here, lol.
BUT...it's both Spring Break & Easter Weekend for us, so snow-or-no-snow...we are gonna party!

I just love the decor/images of Easter & Springtime...bunnies, ducks, birds, lambs, pastels, flowers...so adorable & happy.

Here are my creations last month, made with all the wonderful products from  Vintage Street Market:

I created a mini album, a tag, and a shadowbox/wall hanging (made of a vintage plastic plate!).
And I just love the little collectible Edward Mobley lamb...found it in an antique shop this year and couldn't wait to add it to my little collection of Spring decor.

The mini album uses lots of little vintage touches, including pages from an old Beatrix Potter book.
Here are just a few of the simple pages:

Love the VSM Bingo Card, & the little duckie sticker from the Retro Easter Kit.

Well, I'm off to make Jello Eggs, watch Peter Cottontail, and eat my weight in dark chocolate Cadbury mini eggs, heh...happy weekend!

A Goodbye to Get Picky...

This past year, I have had the great pleasure to work with the inspiring designers and amazing owners of the Get Picky challenge blog.
As my year designing for them comes to a close, so does their venture...both Tanya & Nikki have had life-changing years, and have decided to discontinue the site.  You can read more about their announcement HERE.

For the final inspiration challenge, they left us with these sweet words:
I chose to create a 2-page layout about my sweet oldest daughter...she's gone through a lot in the past few years, and her resilience & beautiful personality are a constant source of strength and inspiration to me:

I showcased the Authentique Gathering collection here, and included a long letter of gratitude, praise, and advice to my daughter in an envelope on the back of the layout.

Again, my great thanks to Tanya, Nikki, the amazing design team, AND all of you who have inspired me with your gorgeous participation in the Get Picky challenges.  I hope to continue to keep in touch with you all, here at my blog, and in other places in the online crafting world.
Much love!

Elle's Sketch Challenge...

I played along with another sketch challenge...this one's from Elle's Studio:

Here's my take:

I just love the large circle accents, and the cut-out pennants & tags from Elle's Studio!

At first, I only meant to add a couple drops of the dark brown glaze and a hint of pink paint...but after a big mess-up, I had to just embrace it and go all-out with the crazy background, LOL.

Thanks for stopping by!
